Johnson Smith Co.

Do you ever go into a dollar store or peruse the clearance bin of any semi-reputable department store and wonder how they got that crap to begin with?

Johnson Smith Co. has been in the business of selling crap for many years. Arguably, they are the best. You may know them best as the company with the full-page ads in comic books selling stuff like sea-monkey and x-ray glasses. I guess they must have a pretty sound business model because they are still in business selling garbage to an entirely new generation.

how could I ever live without these?

Movin’ on up

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2003

As you can see things look quite different at this site. I’m currently in the process of migrating from the Blogger to Movable Type weblog system. Expect things to be a bit strange for the next few day.

Ultimately, I will have all my old entries back as well a nice new cleaner looking interface without the obnoxious banner ad at the top. Plus, a comments system is installed so if anyone visits they can comment on whatever they like or dislike.

I’d work on it this afternoon but it looks pretty sunny, so I guess I’ll hack the HTML and CSS this evening.

For such a gadget and computer nerd such as me you’d think I’d have several things. A cell-phone and a PayPal account to accept doanations. The cell-phone I’ll never get seeing as the phone ain’t exactly ringing off the hook for me at home so it sure as fuck won’t be ringing outside of the home. In regards to PayPal, it’s just one of those things I never got around to because, well, I just never got around to it. So now that I’m hooked up with PayPal, I can do what I’ve been wanting to do for a while; sell shit on eBay and use the money to buy even better shit. My first aution isn’t even really exciting. It’s an old Modem that I’ve had kickng around in the bottom drawer of my desk. I’ll give it a shot and see how things go. If some sucker buys it then the next up for sale is my first and second-born.

Welcome to the 21st century, Eric
