Kid Robot is a store in San Francisco which sells collectable action figures. Alternately called “fashion toys” (Japan), “Hong Kong vinyl” or “urban vinyl action figures”. The trend originated in Hong Kong but now includes designers from Japan, England, Singapore, and the United States. This emerging movement is a unique fusion of East-meets-West culture, and connects to other movements like urban street culture, graffiti and hip-hop.
